No one penile prosthesis is right for all patients experiencing ED. The AMS Spectra™ Concealable Penile Prosthesis may be well suited for patients who:

- Have limited dexterity
- Desire a prosthesis that is easy for you and your partner to use
- Do not require repeated cystoscopy
- Are interested in a simple surgical procedure
- Understand that the prosthesis will remain firm when not being used

Patient Profile
Tom is a 67-year old man who had a radical prostatectomy three years ago. Since the surgery, Tom has not been able to achieve an erection. He attempted to use a vacuum device, but found it too difficult to operate. Drug therapy did not work, and Tom did not like the idea of injection therapy.
After consultation with his physician, Tom decided that an AMS non-inflatable prosthesis was the best solution, in part because he was interested in a device with fewer components. Also, Tom's physician thought that an AMS non-inflatable prosthesis would suit his needs better than an inflatable three-component device since he sustained some abdominal scarring from the prostate surgery. The fact that he did not need recurring endoscopic procedures meant that Tom could consider a non-inflatable penile prosthesis.
Tom is pleased with the results of his implant. He feels the absence of a normal-looking flaccid penis is outweighed by the simplicity of the prosthesis, the minimal effort it takes to operate, and the firm erection and good concealment results it provides.
